CagriSema
Also known as Cagrilintide + semaglutide
Novo Nordisk's experimental once-weekly combination of an amylin analogue and semaglutide for obesity.
What's in it
- Cagrilintide: Amylin analogue: fullness
- Semaglutide: GLP-1 agonist: appetite and blood sugar
Why people combine them
Amylin and GLP-1 reduce appetite through different signals in the brain, so combining them aims for more weight loss than either alone. Unlike seller-made blends, it is a single medicine being developed and tested in large trials.
Strength of evidence
Moderate and growing: phase 3 trials (the REDEFINE programme) reported more weight loss than semaglutide alone.
Risks
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation (common)
- The same warnings as semaglutide (see its library page)
Regulatory status
Not yet approved; under regulatory review or in late-stage trials depending on the country.
Track CagriSema privately
Fiala's free converter handles blends: enter what's in your vial and your prescribed dose of one peptide, and it shows the units to draw and how much of each peptide that draw contains. Everything stays on your phone.
