Privacy Policy
What Fiala stores, and where
Fiala saves the information you choose to enter so the app can work. It is stored only in your device's local storage for the app (or, on the website, your browser's storage for the Fiala site).

Fiala does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, device identifiers or any other personal information. It does not read data from Apple Health, Google Health Connect or other apps.
Health information
What you log can reveal information about your health. Fiala treats all of it as sensitive: it never leaves your device unless you export it yourself, and it is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining.
Notifications
If you turn on dose reminders in the iPhone or Android app, Fiala schedules notifications on your device using your phone's own notification system. Reminder content (such as the compound name and amount) is created on your device and is not sent anywhere. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's Settings.
On the website, "Add to calendar" creates a calendar file on your device. If you add it to a calendar account (for example iCloud or Google Calendar), that calendar provider's privacy policy applies to it.
Backups and exports
Fiala can create a backup file or a CSV export of your log. These files are made on your device and saved wherever you choose (for example Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or email). Once you save or send a file somewhere, that service's privacy policy applies. Backups contain your health records, so keep them somewhere private.
Tips
The website links to a Buy Me a Coffee page where you can choose to leave a tip. Fiala doesn't share anything with Buy Me a Coffee; if you leave a tip, you do so on their site and their own privacy policy applies. Fiala never learns whether you tipped.
Sharing and selling
Fiala does not share, sell or rent your information to anyone, because it never receives it.
Fiala Plus purchases
If you buy Fiala Plus, payment is handled by Stripe, which receives your name, email and payment details under its own privacy policy. Straight after you pay, Fiala sends the checkout reference from Stripe to Fiala's unlock service (plus.getfiala.com, run on Cloudflare). The service asks Stripe whether that checkout was paid and returns a signed unlock code containing the end of the checkout reference and your email. The service doesn't store anything. Fiala keeps the code only on your device, and Plus then works offline without contacting anyone. Nothing from your log is ever sent.
Website hosting
The Fiala website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub may record technical information such as your IP address when your browser loads the site, under GitHub's privacy statement. Fiala sets no cookies and adds no advertising or tracking scripts.
Website visit statistics
To see which pages are useful, the Fiala website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. When a page loads, it records anonymous, aggregate information such as the page address, the site that linked to it, and the browser, device type and country. It uses no cookies or local storage, doesn't build a profile of you, and doesn't follow you across other websites. Nothing you enter in Fiala is ever included: your log, vials, schedules, doses and the numbers you type into the converter stay on your device. The iPhone and Android apps don't use it.
News feed
To show the News section, the website and the iPhone and Android apps download a public list of headlines from getfiala.com (hosted on GitHub Pages, as above) a few times a day while you use the app. The download is the same for everyone: it contains nothing about you, and your log, schedules and the peptides you follow are never sent. Which peptides you follow is stored only on your device. Tapping a headline opens the original source, such as PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov or the FDA website, whose own privacy policy then applies. Apart from the news feed, the iPhone and Android apps load nothing from the internet.
Keeping or deleting your data
Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete individual entries in the app at any time. To delete everything:
- iPhone or Android app: delete the app.
- Website: clear the site data for Fiala in your browser settings, or remove the home-screen app and then clear the site data.
Because Fiala has no copy of your data, deleted data cannot be recovered unless you kept a backup file.
Your rights
Data protection laws such as the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and US state privacy laws give you rights over personal data an organisation holds about you. Fiala holds none: your data is on your device and under your control, so you can view, export, correct or delete it yourself at any time.
Children
Fiala is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy
If Fiala starts handling data differently, this policy will be updated before the change and the effective date above will change.
