Dihexa
Also known as PNB-0408
Experimental compound derived from angiotensin IV, studied in animals for memory.
What people use it for
- Memory and cognition (popular use)
- Alzheimer's disease (animal research)
What Dihexa does in the body
Strengthens signalling by hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) through its receptor, c-Met. In animal studies this encouraged new connections between neurons and improved performance in memory tasks.
Strength of evidence
Very weak: animal studies only; no published human trials.

Reported side effects & risks
- Unknown in humans
- Theoretical cancer concern, because the HGF/c-Met pathway can drive tumor growth
Who should avoid it or take extra care
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Under 18
- Current or past cancer (it may promote cell growth; theoretical)
