Cerebrolysin 60 mg vial: mixing & syringe guide

Approved outside the USCognitive & mood

How much bacteriostatic water to add to a 60 mg Cerebrolysin vial, what each mark on a U-100 insulin syringe holds, and how long the vial lasts at your dose.

The licensed medicine comes as a ready-made liquid in ampoules, measured in mL, and is never mixed. This guide is only for powder vials labelled in mg.

Mixing table for a 60 mg vial

What each mark on a U-100 insulin syringe holds. With 5 mL of water, for example, the vial holds 12 mg/mL, so every unit is 120 mcg and 10 units is 1.2 mg.

More water doesn't change the dose, only how much liquid holds it. It makes small doses easier to measure. On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL.

How to mix a Cerebrolysin vial

  1. Wash your hands. Wipe the tops of the peptide vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab and let them dry.
  2. Draw up the amount of bacteriostatic water you've chosen with a fresh syringe.
  3. Push the needle through the rubber top and let the water run slowly down the inside wall, not straight onto the powder.
  4. Swirl or roll the vial gently until the powder dissolves. Don't shake it.
  5. Label the vial with the date and strength, and keep it in the fridge.
  6. Use a new sterile syringe for every dose, and never share needles.
