Cagrilintide 10 mg vial: mixing & syringe guide

In clinical trialsMetabolic & weight

How much bacteriostatic water to add to a 10 mg Cagrilintide vial, what each mark on a U-100 insulin syringe holds, and how long the vial lasts at your dose.

Mixing table for a 10 mg vial

What each mark on a U-100 insulin syringe holds. With 2 mL of water, for example, the vial holds 5 mg/mL, so every unit is 50 mcg and 10 units is 500 mcg.

2 mL5 mg/mL50 mcg500 mcg

More water doesn't change the dose, only how much liquid holds it. It makes small doses easier to measure. On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL.

How to mix a Cagrilintide vial

  1. Wash your hands. Wipe the tops of the peptide vial and the water vial with an alcohol swab and let them dry.
  2. Draw up the amount of bacteriostatic water you've chosen with a fresh syringe.
  3. Push the needle through the rubber top and let the water run slowly down the inside wall, not straight onto the powder.
  4. Swirl or roll the vial gently until the powder dissolves. Don't shake it.
  5. Label the vial with the date and strength, and keep it in the fridge.
  6. Use a new sterile syringe for every dose, and never share needles.
